In the early 1970s, the rolling hills of Kangema, Murang’a County whispered of promise.
Local farmers, determined and hopeful, came together with one shared vision: to create a place where they could process their own tea, claim their rightful place in the market, and build a future for their families.
Thus, Kanyenyaini Tea Factory was born in 1974.
Starting with humble resources but limitless spirit, the factory quickly became a beacon of hope. Over time, our farmer base has grown to over 9,748 dedicated growers who tend to over 14.9 million thriving tea bushes, all rooted at an elevation of 1,906 meters , a climate and soil perfect for world-class tea.
Each chapter of our story is written by the men and women who walk the tea rows at dawn, who lift baskets heavier than their dreams, and who trust that hard work, patience, and faith will always yield a better season.
Today, Kanyenyaini stands not just as a factory but as a living, breathing testament to what a united community can achieve.
